Drama School Audition Technique

Participants will explore tools for breaking down monologues using objectives and playable actions. They will identify and make decisions about the given circumstances surrounding their monologue. Participants will be given exercises encouraging them to make bold and decisive choices on character. This workshop will also offer them a series of vocal and physical exercises that participants can handpick in order to create their own bespoke audition warm up.

Stage Combat

This workshop introduces unarmed combat for stage and screen. Participants will learn the principles that make stage combat safe and convincing, and be able to apply them to a sequence of moves. They will be introduced to slaps, contact and non-contact punches, kicks and various other unarmed attacks. Participants will also be taught how to adapt combat for different kinds of staging. Alongside technique, they will be encouraged to explore storytelling through the performance of stage combat.

Bringing Shakespeare to Life

Participants in this workshop explore methods that work both from inside out, and outside in, layering their understanding of Shakespearean text. They will work on their ability to source clues from the text in order to assist them in making choices about character. They will also discover the confidence to merge body and voice in order to deliver a more crisp and vibrant performance of Shakespeare’s words.

Other workshops are also available and we are able to design bespoke workshops on request.
